We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to work 2-3 days (about 20-25 hours) a week in our small animal private practice. Once part of our team, you will be an integral part of our hospital by seeing appointments, performing surgical procedures, referring particular cases to specialists, etc. Daily, we attempt to do any scheduled surgeries or care of hospitalized patients first thing once the hospital opens. Doctor appointments will be scheduled in 15 and 30 minute increments throughout the day, averaging between 10 and 20 Monday through Friday (depending on scheduled surgery and length of time for the surgery), and about 8-12 on Saturdays. Technicians will see appointments throughout the day and consult with the vet as needed based on any findings in those appointments.
Responsibilities: Determines nature of disease or injury by examining pets; specifically dogs and cats. Restores health by treating animals surgically or medically. Recommends surgical procedures as needed such as dental procedures, mass removals, radiographs, etc. and the ability to perform required surgical procedures. Prevents rabies, burcellosis, and other disorders by testing animals; providing inoculations according to state laws and hospital procedures. Promotes health of animals by advising animal owners about sanitation measures, feeding, and general care including behavior and training recommendations. Accurately and precisely documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and animal records. Enhances veterinary clinic reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; maintaining a quality relationship with our clients and their pets.
