As a fast paced and rapidly growing hospital we are currently seeking to fill these positions:
Treatment Nurse- The position reports directly to the Treatment Floor Supervisor. He/she is responsible for a variety of tasks as assigned within the Treatment Floor. They must have a broad knowledge of small animal medicine and surgery including pharmacology, proper restraint / handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing, disease processes, and surgery/radiology techniques. General nursing experience is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are a must in this client communication department. The position requires great flexibility and the ability to multi task in an extremely high paced environment. The day to day tasks within this position will vary and the ability to work within an ever changing, evolving environment is key.
Anesthesia Nurse– Seeking a motivated veterinary technician for a position in our busy anesthesia department. The right candidate should have a minimum of 3 years anesthesia experience with emergency and critical care knowledge (Licensed Technician preferred). Must be a self-motivated team player, and effective multi-tasker with good communication skills and the ability to treat and monitor critically ill patients. Ability to function efficiently and effectively in a fast paced environment is required.
Surgery Nurse– The Surgical Nurse is responsible for a variety of tasks as assigned within the Surgery Department. They must have a broad knowledge of small animal medicine including pharmacology, proper restraint / handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and radiology techniques. Experience/comfort with anesthesia is required. The surgical nurse works directly alongside a surgeon as their dedicated nurse. It is a dynamic position involving crossover amongst many hospital facets including appointments, patient treatments, client communication, and all aspects of surgery. It is the responsibility of the nurse to oversee the orchestration of surgical appointments including new patients, rechecks, bandage changes, radiographs, laboratory tests and potential sedations. In addition, the surgical nurse will scrub into surgery as needed and will otherwise provide anesthesia to their direct cases. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are a must in this client communication heavy position. Flexibility and the ability to multi task in an extremely high paced environment is key.
