The Member Advocate is responsible for maintaining and enriching the AVMA Life member’s experience by researching and resolving member/dependent issues including, but not limited to claim management (reviewing medical bills, navigating the healthcare system, coordinating/tracking payments, locating providers, etc.), provide open enrollment assistance, communication with providers on behalf of the member and help members interpret plan benefits. In addition, the member advocate will assist members by suggesting coverage options they may not have previously considered and work with agents to bring viable plans for consideration.
3 to 5 years of medical claims experience and/or insurance sales experience;
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including phone training;
Must have strong computer skills (Word, Power Point, Excel, CRM, etc);
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team;
Must be able to travel on behalf of the AVMA LIFE as needed, including some weekends;
Must be able to work outside of normal business hours as required;
Dependable, flexible, adaptable self-starter who is self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude;
Strong time management and analytical skills are required.
