Five doctor mixed animal practice looking for a full-time or part-time small animal or mixed animal practitioner. We are located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the beautiful county of Bedford, Virginia. There are a lot of outdoor activities close by and big city shopping is only thirty minutes away. We have digital xray, ultrasound, and in-house blood work. Lots of surgery daily, and canine reproduction work. We offer large animal services to small family farms and see horses, bovines, sheep, goats alpacas and pot belly pigs. Salary is not based on production and an extensive benefits package with money towards CE is available. Weekend work and emergency work is negotiable/not required. We welcome new graduates to apply, mentorship is not a problem.

Knowledge of small animal internal medicine and routine small animal surgery/procedures. Knowledge of large animal medicine is an added bonus but not required

About Bedford Animal Hospital LLC

High volume mixed animal practice, with five doctors. We are located in Bedford which is in southwest Virginia. Lots of outdoor activities close by. Great small town with vibrant downtown but two large cities close by. We see limited amounts of after hours calls (2 SA emergency clinics close by). We have senior vet students from VA Tech on a regular basis so mentoring a young graduate is not a problem. We have in house blood machines, a new ultrasound, and digital xray. We do a lot of reproduction work with canines, and have a high volume of small animal surgeries daily. Sadly we are losing a lot of our farms due to the encroachment of the cities but we still provide veterinary care to the remaining farmers and back yard horse owners. We also see goats, sheep, pot belly pigs and alpacas.
