The ideal candidate is a well-experienced Veterinary Technician. You are not required to have a CVT/RVT, but if you are on that track and want to have some of the best Technicians in the business helping you, this is the job for you. This is a highly collaborative environment.
The Veterinary Technician is the veterinarian's primary medical support. You will assist the doctor throughout the examination, diagnosis, and treatment phases of appointments. You aid the veterinarians in achieving higher efficiency by relieving them of technical work and administrative detail and have a very significant role in communicating with and educating clients about their pet's medical needs and wellbeing.
Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) highly preferred.
Professional appearance required; scrubs are to be worn at all times.
You are required to be at work when scheduled and be timely.
Must be 18 years or older.
Work well independently and in a group.
Show excellent client communication and telephone skills.
Must efficiently be able to read, speak, and write in English.
Must have the necessary digital literacy skills.
Balance multiple unrelated tasks simultaneously.
Coordinate injections, perform venipuncture, take vital signs of animals, and accurately restrain animals, including fractious pets, for examination and treatment.
Dispense treatments/medications intravenously, orally, and subcutaneously.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand all day.
Small animal hospital, work in front and back of the hospital, high level of client interaction, exposure to x-rays, and anesthetic gases with the accurate protective measure.
Potential for exposure to zoonotic diseases and positive hazardous materials.
