| The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine (PVM), Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS), invites applications for a full-time (12 month) clinical track faculty position in Theriogenology/ Equine Emphasis at the Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will actively participate in the learning, discovery and engagement activities of the PVM and VCS department. These activities include: Clinical: Providing clinical service to VTH patients primarily in a hospital setting but with the possibility of some ambulatory calls; building strong relationships with equine clientele and referring veterinarians; teaching and supervising veterinary students, veterinary technician students, and house officers. Learning: Responsibilities include clinical, didactic and laboratory instruction of DVM students, veterinary technician students, house officers, and graduate students. Discovery: Collaborative research that complements and builds on current PVM and Department of Animal Sciences faculty interests and strengths (www.vet.purdue.edu/vcs/; https://ag.purdue.edu/ansc/Pages/default.aspx). Service and Engagement: Participation in committee work, professional organizations, delivery of continuing education and Extension programs, and other appropriate activities. The ideal candidate will have a primary interest in equine theriogenology but will be able to attend other species on a limited basis. Purdue’s new large animal hospital, which will open in 2022, includes a full equine theriogenology facility. PVM is highly supportive of individual faculty career growth and development. A formal faculty mentoring program is in place. Qualifications for the position include a DVM or equivalent degree and board certification or board eligibility in the American College of Theriogenology. Candidates should have a sincere interest in providing outstanding clinical service, extension outreach, teaching, and participating in collaborative research. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and teaching skills, and be able to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, house officers and clientele. The successful candidate is expected to promote an atmosphere of collegiality and cultural diversity in the College. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
