Other Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledge of basic veterinary preventive medicine and current recommendations for wellness care
Ability to efficiently assess sick cases and recommend appropriate diagnostics and treatment
Competent with basic and routine surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, gastropexies and mass removals
Ideally, is also comfortable with advanced soft tissue surgeries such as intestinal, bladder and more complex mass removals. However, we are happy to provide surgical mentorship to a motivated and enthusiastic candidate
Dental extraction and oral surgery experience is preferred. We will provide mentorship to the right candidate if needed.
Is a team player and supportive and respectful to all staff
An effective communicator with the ability to diffuse conflict and maintain calm under pressure
Has enthusiasm and a positive attitude and is excited to practice high quality medicine, seeks answers and knowledge with difficult cases and is always wanting to expand their skill set and knowledge base

Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of North Carolina
Current DEA License
1 yr experience in small animal medicine
Hours and Scheduling
We are currently closed weekends and holidays, however this candidate would be expected to work until 8pm at least 1 week night.
We can be very flexible with our scheduling and can offer a 3 or 4 day work week
We are looking for a candidate who will work a minimum of 30hrs per week, however, we never ask employees to work over 40hrs (most full time employees average 32-36hrs) and we protect lunch breaks and time away from work to encourage a healthy work life balance
