The Department of Clinical Studies – New Bolton Center at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a two-year large animal Cardiology/Ultrasound Fellowship. Requirements include a VMD/DVM degree or equivalent, demonstrated interest in large animal ultrasonography and cardiology, and strong interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will learn to perform and interpret ultrasonographic (musculoskeletal, abdominal, thoracic, other) and cardiovascular examinations in large animals, with emphasis on the equine patient. The fellow will be a critical team member in the day-to-day functioning of the clinical service and will be expected to participate in sonographic examinations, writing of examination reports, client communication, clinical rounds, journal club, student teaching, and, as time permits, ongoing clinical research investigations. Continuing the fellowship in the second year is contingent on satisfactory progress during the first year.
The position will be available July 1, 2025. The application deadline is December 20, 2024, or until the position is filled. The salary for this position is $40,000 per year.
