Anoka Equine offers two week externship opportunities to veterinary students.  Externs are assigned daily to one of our staff doctors.  Doctors review procedures and diagnostic techniques of the cases seen that day. As the schedule permits, externs will be scheduled with a variety of doctors to gain a broad learning experience.  Externs are scheduled Monday through Saturday from 8 am until the last appointment or hospital case is seen.  Contact information can be left for participation in emergency cases that are admitted after hours.  Hands on experience is common, though it is dependent on the experience level and aptitude of the student.
